Fans of offbeat Japanese PS1 software no doubt remember PaRappa the Rapper, the rhythm game about a rapping dog who spits his way through a variety of activities like kung fu training and driving. That's great and all, but do you remember Vib-Ribbon? It was developed by NanaOn-Sha, the same studio responsible for PaRappa, and the reason you may not remember it is because it was only launched in Europe and Japan. However, Americans can finally sample the title for themselves when it arrives on the PlayStation Network tomorrow, compatible with the PS3 and PS Vita.
In Vib-Ribbon, you control the rabbit Vibri as she runs through a level generated by music. The game's major hook is that you could swap the game disc out for any music CD and create new levels based on those songs. That same feature returns in full force on the PS3 (obviously this feature is missing from the Vita version), so start compiling that personalized playlist! Check out the custom Gorillaz level above.
Vib-Ribbon arrives on PSN on October 7. The game is not compatible with PS4, although Sony is working on getting it up and running on its latest console.
