Assassin’s Creed Unity Fan Theory: How Desmond Could Come Back

This fan theory lays out the possibility that Desmond could be returning to explain the glyphs.

This fan has a theory that lays out how Desmond Miles would return in Assassin’s Creed Unity.

It all revolves around the glyphs, which have been confirmed to be returning in Unity. The glyphs originally appeared in Assassin’s Creed 2 and Assassin’s CreedBrotherhood. These were marks in the Animus left behind by Subject 16. Only Desmond and Subject 16 know what these glyphs mean.

In Assassin’s Creed Revelations, Subject 16’s mind was wiped by the Animus, and his body was destroyed, but his consciousness then entered Desmond’s. In turn, Subject 16, saved Desmond’s consciousness in Assassin’s Creed 3, as his body, and Subject 16’s mind is destroyed.

Desmond is now the only surviving person who is familiar with the glyphs. Desmond will interact with the new modern day player character, and use the glyphs to explain Juno’s and the Templars’ plans to the new character.

There will be a Truth video in Assassin’s Creed Unity like in Assassin’s Creed 2 and Assassin’s CreedBrotherhood. The video could possibly be about Eve.

Assassin’s Creed 3 revealed Juno was using the Eye to speak to Ezio and Connor. However, after that game, the Eye was nowhere to be found. Desmond could use the Eye in Assassin’s Creed Unity to speak to the new modern day player character to explain how to stop Juno.
