WWE 2K15 Footage Appears: New Unexplained Holds System Revealed

September 29, 2014 by Ryan Parreno

The holds system looks very interesting.

New footage of WWE 2K15 from Eurogamer Expo has emerged.

The videos show off matches between John Cena and Goldust, Randy Orton and Cesaro, and Randy Orton using his signature finisher, the RKO.

This footage is also a good demonstration of the PlayStation 4 version’s fast loading speed, as transitioning between screens takes seconds.

One new aspect we hadn’t seen before comes in the Cena vs Goldust video at around 1:19. From a collar and elbow position, the two wrestlers jostle and transition into Goldust grabbing Cena by the neck. Goldust then switches between locking his arm into Cena’s neck, and then letting go, only to rain his arm down on it.

It seems 2K Sports has introduced a new system for holds, as two glowing circles appear prior to the hold being released. 2K Sports has yet to explain how this system works, but it may be another game changer on how WWE games play.

WWE 2K15 will be released on October 28 on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and on November 18 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. You can watch the Cena vs Goldust match above and more footage below.
