The release of Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor is just around the corner, making it the perfect time get a head start and familiarize yourself with some of the deeper aspects of the game. This eight minute video will take you through several features, from cast of creatures, to the weapons, to the Nemesis system, a unique feature that explores the military hierarchy of your Orc enemies. The clip also covers the characters you'll meet along the way, from new friends who teach the player valuable combat skills, to more familiar folks like a certain former hobbit with a jewelery fixation.
In terms of timeline, Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor takes place in between The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, as players take on the role of a fallen Ranger from Gondor known as Talion and investigate his relationship to the Rings of Power and the smith who crafted them. Reportedly, Monolith Productions worked with Peter Jackson, Middle-earth Interprises and Weta Workshop (the visual effects company who worked on the LOTR movie trilogy) to develop the story in harmony with the established canon.
Middle-earth: Shadows of Mordor comes to PC, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 3 on September 30, 2015.
