Starting today, players who pre-order Techland’s upcoming zombie-bashing/parkour game Dying Light will receive free additional content in the game in the form of a Steam-exclusive weapon called the Punk Queen, and a multiplayer DLC mode called Be the Zombie.
First things first, Be the Zombie is a competitive asymmetric multiplayer mode that allows players to invade other games as the Night Hunter, described as the “ultimate zombie with a unique set of deadly skills.” The Night Hunter allows players to turn into a fast, agile, and dangerous predator whose sole objective is to hunt down human survivors—i.e. other players.
As for the Punk Queen, it’s a lot like a spiffed up version of Gordon Freeman’s trusty crowbar, that’s upgraded with batteries and wires for electrical damage, lighters for burn damage, acid containers, spikes, and razors. It’s a powerful weapon that allows players to deal out alternating damage with each strike of their weapon. Players who pre-purchase the game on Steam will receive an exclusive blueprint allowing them to craft the weapon in the game.
Dying Light is set for release on January 27 in the Americas, January 18 in Australia and NZ, and January 30 in Europe and Asia.
