Activision has revealed that Bungie’s Destiny has sold $325 million worldwide since its release last week.
The figure was reached within five days of the game’s release, and players have logged in over 100 million hours in the first week alone, participating in over 137 million activities.
The publisher states that the game is now the best selling new game of all time, and that it was previously the most pre-ordered new franchise in history.
Activision clarified that it arrived at its figures based on Chart-Track, first parties, retail outlets, and through internal estimates.
In related news, Media Create announced that Destiny had sold 140,780 copies in Japan on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 systems. The game is exclusive to PlayStation systems in Japan.
Destiny came out on Tuesday, September 9 and is available for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. A PC version of the game has not been announced.
