Final Fantasy Explorers Retail Version Comes With Final Fantasy I 3DS Code At Launch

September 17, 2014 by Ryan Parreno

This version of Final Fantasy I is based on the PSP version rather than the NES version, and offers small tweaks and enhancements.

Square Enix has an enticing bonus for Final Fantasy Explorers retail buyers in Japan.

The first printing of the game will have a download code for the 3DS version of Final Fantasy 1. This version will support 3D, and will be sold in the Nintendo eShop separately one month after Final Fantasy Explorers is released.

This version of Final Fantasy 1 is not the NES Virtual Console rerelease. It is a souped up version with enhanced graphics. It is very similar to the PlayStation Portable version, but has a deeper color palette.

Final Fantasy Explorers will also have a demo before release. However, this is no ordinary demo. All the features of the main game, including online and multiplayer, will be supported in this version, and it will also have the prologue.

While Final Fantasy Explorers still does not have a release date in the US, Square Enix has already registered the trademark for it outside Japan, so an announcement would only be a matter of tiime.

Would you buy Final Fantasy Explorers on retail to get this special edition of Final Fantasy I?

Final Fantasy Explorers will be released on December 18 exclusively in Japan for 3DS. Stay tuned to GameRanx for the latest news on Final Fantasy Explorers.
