Overkill Software have just revealed another surprise crossover, coming fresh off the heels of the Walking Dead DLC. Introducing Payday 2: Hotline Miami.
This is once again a true collaboration, this time between Overkill and Dennaton Games. Apparently, the two companies have devs who are good friends of each other in real life.
They released a live action trailer, hinting on the Hotline working with the gang from Payday, possibly as a client. Hoxton and Jacket take turns interrogating an unknown man for information, with fatal results.
As usual, Overkill is sparing with details, but they have shared that this DLC is coming on Steam September 30, and it involves a heist.
From the looks of the trailer, it may be a heist that’s gone wrong, and that’s forced the Payday gang to work with Jacket in retrieving the money.
The most tantalizing part of this DLC is knowing it may shed more light on the Hotline Miami universe than the actual game ever could. Eschewing the issues of having an unreliable narrator, fans might actually get to know what Jacket is really like from the point of view of the gang.
There is no word on whether Jacket still has his senses on this one either – who wants to take bets you will eventually have to face him?
