Ryse Son of Rome Can Run On 4K, PC System Requirements Revealed

September 8, 2014 by Ryan Parreno

Ryse’s PC requirements tell a different story from the original Xbox One release.

The system requirements for Ryse: Son of Rome for Steam have been revealed.  It is confirmed that PC players will be able to run the game on 4K if they want to.

Of course, you do not need to have a 4K capable PC to play the game. In fact, it will run at a minimum i3 2.8 GHz, and a dual core CPU with hyperthreading. It is possible that the game’s flexibility on PC comes from its use of DirectX 11.

Our source has shared three sets of requirements for the benefit of players; a minimum set to run the game, a recommended spec for 4K, and a separate recommended spec for PCs that won’t display it in 4K. I have added in equivalent specs for the Xbox One console, as well as the game’s download file size, for comparison’s sake.

Minimum:

CPU: Dual core with HyperThreading technology or quad core CPU

Examples: Intel Core i3 2.8 GHz (3220T) or AMD Phenom II X4 3.2 GHz (945)

Memory: 4 GB RAM

GPU: DirectX 11 graphics card with 1 GB video RAM

Examples: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 or AMD Radeon HD 7770

OS: 64 bit Windows (Vista, 7, 8)

HDD: 26GB

Recommended:

CPU: Quad Core or Six Core CPU

Examples: Intel Core i5 3.3 GHz (2500k) or AMD FX-6350 3.9 GHz

Memory: 8 GB RAM

GPU: DirectX 11 graphics card with 2 GB video RAM

Examples: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660Ti or AMD Radeon 260x or 7850

OS: 64 bit Windows (Vista, 7, 8)

HD: 26GB

Recommended for 4k gameplay:

CPU: Quad Core or Eight Core CPU

Examples: Intel Core i7 3.5 GHz (2700k) or AMD FX-8350 4.0 GHz

Memory: 8 GB RAM

GPU: DirectX 11 graphics card with 4 GB video RAM

Examples: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780/ Titan or AMD Radeon 290x

OS: 64 bit Windows (Vista, 7, 8)

HD: 26GB

Xbox One

APU: AMD Two Quad Core Jaguar APUs

Memory: 8 GB DDR3 RAM, with 32 MB ESRAM

Ryse Xbox One download size: 47GB

Ryse: Son of Rome will be released on Windows on October 10, 2014.
