Destiny Remote Play Between PS4 and Vita Demoed

September 5, 2014 by Stephen Daly

It’s not exactly the same as having Destiny on Vita but it’s pretty close.

Destiny is not coming to PlayStation Vita but those with a PS4 version of Bungie's open shooter will still be able to experience the game on the handheld via remote play.

This naturally means some changes to the control layout to accommodate the Vita's design. The aim and fire buttons use the portable system's single shoulder buttons while quickly tapping the left or right side of the touch screen allows you to issue a melee attack or throw a grenade in lieu of the normal should buttons for those actions. You can check out the full control scheme in the image above.

Sony recommends playing using a wired connection over the same network and while Remote Play is possible via wireless, it's not always reliable.

Earlier today a "first-of-its-kind" partnership with Red Bull's skydiving team was announced to mark the launch of the game and document launch parties around the world.

Destiny launches on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One on September 9th.
