Destiny Pre-Order Deals Surface as Release Day Nears

August 29, 2014 by Ian Miles Cheong

Three Destiny pre-order deals shows up from three retailers.

Destiny

Nice little surprise this Labor Day weekend with Groupon (yep of all places) selling pre-orders of Destiny at 10% off. The upcoming title from Bungie will be released in less than two weeks on September 9th.

Discounts on AAA titles are always a rarity, especially for console video games. You can grab Destiny for $53.99 at Groupon after using coupon "LABOR10" during checkout. Shipping is free and the game will be shipped on release day. The coupon expires Sep 1s and is available on all platforms: PS4, PS3, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.

For those not willing to wait for shipping, other deals are available on Destiny and the pre-order bonuses are all credit based:

The Microsoft Store one ups everyone else (relatively), offering free release day delivery plus a $10 Xbox Gift Code for those getting the Xbox One or 360 version through their online store. If you pre-order before September 5th at 2PM Pacific, Microsoft Store is guaranteeing you'll receive the game by its release date (as long as you don't live in the middle of no where).

Over at Best Buy you can pre-order the game for the full MSRP, but you'll receive a $10 Best Buy rewards certificate as an incentive. Those with the Gamers Club Unlocked status at Best Buy will get 20% off on Destiny in addition to the rewards certificate. With the Best Buy option you can opt to pick-up in Store on release day, so you'll be able to game on day one.

Pre-Order Bonuses for Destiny

For those pre-ordering at Best Buy or Microsoft Store, you'll receive the "exclusive" pre-order bonus early access to the "Vanguard Armory" Set. The Armory set nets you Vanguard weapons and gear, plus a Vanguard player emblem.

Note that this is just an early access, so regular gamers who didn't bother to pre-order (or those buying from Groupon) will still be able to unlock the Vanguard set eventually.

All in all, some solid deals for what looks to be a contender for top game of 2014. Let us know in the comments if you spot other pre-order deals for Destiny!
