The Sims 4: These Are the Most Important Features Cut from Past Games

August 28, 2014 by Stephen Daly

It’s not just pools and toddlers, 89 features didn’t make it.

The Sims 4 launches in just four days and we won't know what the game's like beforehand because EA is not giving access to reviewers ahead of release.

So what exactly are you getting in the game, or rather, what are you not? The Sims 4 News has complied an extensive list of the 89 missing features from the game which appeared in previous instalments.

It seems likely that many of the missing features could be reintroduced eventually through expansion packs or DLC but charging fans for content which appeared in previous game is pretty crappy.

We won't go through the whole list of missing content here but below are the most important omissions.

  • No create a style (CAST) – NOT possible in future expansions
  • No modifications to world/public spaces – The park in the demo is a mix of a community lot and public space
  • No “normal” careers – Law enforcement, Medical, Business, etc. were removed
  • No open world – You must incur a loading screen between each active lot; each neighborhood has 1-5 lots total
  • No pools
  • No terrain tools other than paint; everything is perfectly flat
  • No story progression – Sims in the neighborhood age, but do not have children, get jobs, move, get married…etc. without player intervention
  • No toddlers
  • No way to create/place new lots – And you only have two empty ones at the start of the game!
  • No Mac version of the game at release

To counter that, here are the new features fans can look forward to when the game is released.

Are you concerned by the missing features and lack of pre-release reviews?
