First of all, PlayStation Home still exists. Wait… why am I getting a sudden sense of deja vu?
Anyway, Sony's stab at a Second Life-esque ecosystem for the PS3 has been an interesting experiment, if nothing else. But all things must come to an end eventually, which is doubly true for online-dependent platforms. Sony Japan has just announced that it will be ending Home service in Japan come March 2015. This extends to all Asian territories as well.
No word on how much longer Western territories will be allowed to roam freely, but it's safe to assume that Sony will shut down service elsewhere around the same time. We won't know for certain until an official announcement is made. If you want to take one last virtual trip before Home is boarded up, please do so quickly.
