Watch that video above. Weirded out yet? It's not some offbeat fan-made creation, either — this was released on the official Japanese Pokemon YouTube channel! What is Slowpoke doing there? Why is a chain of Slowpokes eating themselves in an Ouroboros circle? Why is there a Japanese man singing reggae?
There is some method to the madness, if you believe it. The video is associated with a free browser game that The Pokemon Company has just uploaded. Called Yadon Paradise — "Yadon" being the Japanese name for "Slowpoke" — it is a simple fishing game in which you dip Slowpoke's tail into the water in order to reel in some aquatic Pokemon. It's also very, very boring.
But at least we got a fun if disturbing music video out of the deal! The house that Pikachu built still knows how to have fun now and again!
