This Minecraft Architectural Project by a Raven Software Level Designer Looks Amazing

August 21, 2014 by Ian Miles Cheong

A level designer at Raven Software has put together an architectural project based on Minecraft.

Justin Negrete, a Senior Level Designer at Raven Software, a studio best known for collaborating on the development of the Call of Duty series, as well as developing their own games like Singularity, has put together an architectural project he made in Minecraft.

His architectural project consists of a bungalow house built entirely in Mojang’s sandbox game Minecraft, with a few textures and graphical mods installed to give it a good look—there’s water reflections and ambient lighting, for starters—features unavailable in the vanilla version of the game.

Negrete puts his amazing skills to work with the limited options available to him in constructing the house, and creates one that looks like something you might see in a high-end home catalog.

“Using simple shapes with set constraints, it forces you to work with what you have, a vital skill for level designers,” writes Negrete in his imgur post, which you can see below.

In all, it’s tremendous work from the designer, whose portfolio can be found here.
