Minecraft May Get Oculus Rift Support, Notch Says

Notch is no longer upset about Facebook’s acquisition of Oculus.

Minecraft creator Markus “Notch” Persson previously said that he would be pulling the development of Oculus Rift support for Minecraft after the company creating the VR device was acquired by Facebook.

“We were in talks about maybe bringing a version of Minecraft to Oculus. I just cancelled that deal,” Persson wrote on Twitter.

“Facebook creeps me out,” said Persson at the time. He went on to write a lengthy blog post to talk about his feelings in detail.

Persson has since changed his mind, stating that he’s now “over” being upset about the Facebook deal.

“And about now I’m officially over being upset about Facebook buying Oculus. I’m upset about there being a hole in my favorite sock instead,” he said on Twitter.

John Carmack, who works at Oculus, replied to Persson’s tweet with a rather ominous message: “Say the word, ship the source, and i’ll make sure It runs well on you-know-what…”

Persson later tweeted that the development of Oculus Rift support would be up to the Minecraft development team.
