Destiny is on course to be the most popular game of the year but it seems it may be even more popular than Bungie and publisher Activision had anticipated, at least in the U.S.
Numerous fans who have pre-order the Limited and more expensive Ghost editions of the game are reporting that they've had their deposits cancelled by retailers including Best Buy and Wallmart.
The extremely rare Ghost Edition was sold out very quickly but the fact that the Limited Edition is now also being cancelled for some suggests demand is well above expectations.
If you're still looking to go for something beyond the regular version of the game but have your pre-order cancelled or weren't able to place one to begin with, the Digital Guardian Edition is the cheapest special edition and includes an expansion pass and other in-game items. It can be downloaded from the PlayStation Store or Xbox Live Store.
