BioWare’s Shadow Realms Isn’t from Canadian Studios, Not the New IP Revealed at E3

July 25, 2014 by Stephen Daly

Signs point to the project being from a collaboration with UK studio Failbetter.

BioWare's newly revealed game is not from their main studios in Canada and is not the new IP the developer revealed at E3 last month, general manger Aaryn Flynn has revealed on Twitter:

The new project being talked about is not from the teams at BioWare Canada, and is not the new IP we revealed at E3…

— Aaryn Flynn (@AarynFlynn) July 25, 2014

The existence of the game was announced this morning via emails sent to fans of the studio with the subject "You've been chosen." While BioWare has yet to reveal the name of the game, speculation points to it being called Shadow Realms as the image which was featured in the email was tagged with that title while EA acquired domains associated with Shadow Realms earlier this year.

Based on what Flynn has said, it seems likely that the game is being produced in collaboration with UK studio Failbetter who revealed that they were working with BioWare in February.

You can watch the game's teaser trailer here while more information on Shadow Realms will be presented at gamescom in mid-August.
