Titanfall: Black Market Announced, Frontier’s Edge DLC Maps Revealed

July 23, 2014 by Ian Miles Cheong

The Black Market is coming to Titanfall.

Respawn Entertainment, the makers of Titanfall, have announced that they are adding a black market into the game in the next update. The system, which uses in-game currency, will allow players to buy Burn Card packs, emblems, and a host of other items. Black Market currency can be attained through achievements, daily challenges, and by discarding excess Burn Cards.

The studio also revealed that it plans to add new achievements to the next update for the game, which also includes multi-GPU support for PC users, framerate and performance optimizations, and a fix for the game’s screen tearing issues on both the Xbox One and PC.

Additionally, the studio announced that it will be releasing the Frontier’s Edge DLC on July 31—that’s just a few days from now. The DLC will be available as part of the game’s DLC Season Pass and can be bought separately for $9.99.

Here’s what’s in store with the three new maps being added to Frontier’s Edge, according to Shacknews.

Export: A mining town filled with warehouses and zip lines connecting them. The map includes electric fences as hazards to Pilots and Titans. Choke points are located along the bottom of the map.

Haven: A futuristic city setting, with towering hotel resorts. Respawn described it as "Space Vegas." Hotels and nightclubs are large enough that they fit Titans along the bottom floor, while Pilots can scramble up each story and do battle in individual rooms.

Dig Site: An open map that takes place in a mining area. Construction equipment and facilities are built over a barren planet. Respawn says that it adds a "Total Recall" vibe.
