Kinect Wizards Create Gesture Control System For Quadrotor Drone

July 8, 2011 by Josh Wanamaker

A trio of brilliant magicians in Zurich have hacked Microsoft’s Kinect to allow extremely fast and accurate control of a quad-rotor drone using gesture motions.

While other attempts at using the kinect to control a quad-rotor drone have proven rather slow and clumsy, these fellows have made a quick, intelligent, and very accurate gesture-based interface that seems almost telekinetic. While not directly related to the kinect or gaming, these same wizards managed to convince two of these quad-rotor things to bounce a ball between each other. That's pretty crazy!
