Neversoft, the Activision subsidiary best known for its work on the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater and Guitar Hero franchises, has been shut down. Its last contibution was to Call of Duty: Ghosts "Extinction" mode, and the team is merging with Infinity Ward to continue work on Call of Duty in the future.
To punctuate the end of an era, the studio burned an effigy of the iconic eyeball from its logo. Each staff member also apparantly received a big hunting knife.
At the very least, it's good that the former Neversoft developers will continue to work under Activision. We wish them the best of luck in their continued endeavors.
