Pokemon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire: New Pokedex Resembles a Game Boy Advance

July 11, 2014 by Tony Ponce

The recent CoroCoro magazine issue also shows off adorable costumed Pikachus.

Yesterday, we learned that the recent issue of Japan's CoroCoro magazine pulled the lid off Metagross' Mega evolution. Pokemon info page Serebii has inspected the magazine scans further and learned a few other nifty bits — namely, that the Pokedex in Pokemon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire greatly resembles the first Game Boy Advance model, most likely in honor of Ruby & Sapphire's original platform.

Also revealed in the scans is artwork for each of the gym leaders. Even cuter are the pieces that show Pikachu in various costumes. There's Madam Pikachu, Hard Rock Pikachu, Masked Pikachu, Doctor Pikachu, and Idol Pikachu, all dressed up for a night on the town! These different looks are possibly related to this game's incarnation of Contests, competitions between Pokemon that don't involve battling.

Pokemon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire are heading towards 3DS on November 21.
