Pokemon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire: Secret Bases Make a Return

July 9, 2014 by Tony Ponce

Secret Bases first introduced in the original Ruby & Sapphire now have a load of new features.

After skipping Black & White, Black 2 & White 2, and X & Y, Secret Bases are returning to Pokemon in the upcoming Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire. Now under the more fantastic name Super-Secret Bases, there's a lot more stuff you can do than ever before.

You'll of course be able to decorate your base as though it was a home in Animal Crossing. You can establish it as a personal gym, set up your own rules, and invite other players to visit and battle you. Trainers from other bases can become Secret Pals and return to your base, after which they'll provide special support skills during your main adventure. You can also play a variation of capture-the-flag — the more flags you collect from others' bases, the higher your rank increases and the more your Secret Pals' skills improve. You'll be able to visit other Super-Secret Bases via StreetPass, but if that's not viable, you can share bases using QR codes.

There are so many new and returning surprises to enjoy in Pokemon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire when it lands on 3DS on November 21. Think you'll be prepared by then?
