Sid Meier has turned his gaze upon social sites by putting Civilization World, a simplified—"streamlined"—version of the Civilization experience on Facebook.
The game is currently in open beta, meaning there will be plenty of bugs and annoyances for players to contend with at the moment. If you feel like pitching your time and energy into polishing the title before it's released for real, by all means check out the game's Facebook page.
Players will be able to form their own nation and compete over eras, while collaborating in a variety of ways with others across the social network. A walkthrough of the game can be seen below.
Just be glad it isn't Starcraft for Facebook.
