WWE 2K15: Hulk Hogan Reveals The Game Will Have A Special Edition

July 4, 2014 by Ryan Parreno

In fact, he’s signing autographs for said Special Edition right now. We think this will be part of a preorder bonus.

Hulk Hogan himself seems to have outed a special edition for upcoming video game WWE 2K15.

Of course, John Cena was just revealed as the game’s cover athlete. When asked about appearing in the game, Hogan replied that he was actually signing twenty-five thousand pictures for the Special Edition of the game. Right now, he’s up to three thousand pictures. Considering celebrities deal with this all the time, that’s probably not a surprise.

So, Hogan has basically confirmed the game will have a special edition with Hulk Hogan’s autographs. However, I do not quite think this means there will be a Hulk Hogan Special Edition of the game. What is more likely is that Hulk Hogan was signed up as this year’s pre-order bonus, available only if you pre-ordered your copy. Or, much like Bruce Lee and Royce Gracie in EA Sports UFC, he may be unlocked at the start for fans who preordered the game, and unlockable via career mode or something else for everyone else.

On a personal level, I’m not exactly thrilled seeing Hulk Hogan, and his literal heir apparent John Cena, come up as major figures for WWE 2K15. Nothing personal to either of them, but obviously, this is the fallout of other stars getting out of the picture. I am referring to the recently resigned Ultimate Warrior’s untimely demise, as well as the similarly ill-timed neck injury and surgery for Daniel Bryan.

Having said that, WWE in the video games is separate from the actual WWE wrestling shows, and as 2K Games’s first turn at the franchise, expectations are high that they get it right. Could WWE 2K15 be a return to the heyday of the N64’s WWF No Mercy? Or is 2K Sports too much of an unknown? Let us know what you think in the comments below.

WWE 2K15 will come this October 31 to Xbox 360, Xbox One, Playstation 3, and Playstation 4.
