Today the community chimed in on World of Diving to provide one of the most intriguing shipwreck ideas in a while. Introducing Sgt_Brony’s ship, the HMS Tranquility.
OK, so if his handle isn’t a big giveaway, Sgt_Brony’s idea is for a My Little Pony themed shipwreck. Thankfully, the Word of Diving community didn’t react with jeers and viciousness, and actually helped him flesh this out into something playable and seemingly worthwhile.
In fact, the trip that the community went through for HMS Tranquility’s design led to a sincere debate regarding adding fantasy vs realistic elements in their game, and regarding realism in gaming in general. While some players were concerned that the entry of this ship represented a slippery slope, others argued that the boundaries between realism and fantasy can be crossed in video games, especially now that developers are enabled by the technology of today.
Lest we forget, of course, the most amazing thing about this ship's creation is it entered a game that will very soon be available to play via Oculus Rift, although it isn't needed.
We’re sure you’ll agree when you see it that the Word of Diving community created a wreck worthy of play, and respectful and providing good representation to the My Little Pony community.
