The Sims 4 Base Game Won’t Have Apartments

June 17, 2014 by Yesika Reyes

The developer clarifies that it won’t be available with the base game.

There was a spur of excitement from The Sims fanbase when an e-mail sent to EB World subscribers suggested that apartments will be one of the playable lots in the upcoming game The Sims 4. However, the developers clarified that this was not the case on Twitter.

"The long wait for The Sims is over, and it’s looking better than ever! In the newly announced Sims 4 you can create the stories you’ve always wanted to tell. Will you make dramatic love triangles or generation long family feuds? Create the mansion of your dreams or make your Sims tough it out in a shabby apartment? You can do all this and so much more in The Sims 4!" The EB World e-mail stated.

Apartments made an appearance in the past The Sims games. It is one of the features that most fans of the series love. Like it's predecessors, it was not readily available in the base game. It only appeared in later expansions.

One of the developers Sarah Holding clarified that apartments will not be in The Sims 4 base game through a tweet:

@Libra_Style Right now you can just build houses and community lots, like in The Sims 3 base game.

Yesterday, we posted about the pre-load information for those getting the game digitally via Origin and other juicy information.

The Sims 4 will be coming out on September 2nd for PC platforms.
