Open World Zelda Announced for Wii U

June 10, 2014 by Stephen Daly

The game is about breaking away from past Zelda conventions.

Nintendo has revealed an open world Zelda title for Wii U at E3.

The game will be open open and connected, which means your game now begins when you decide where to go. Satoru Iwata said creating the open world Zelda has been a dream of Mr. Aonuma’s for a long time. Now it’s real.

Aonuma says that they’re trying to break away from Zelda conventions.

The art style lies somewhere between Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword and appears to place emphasis on large open worlds and exploration.

A mech enemy in the trailer seems to be shooting blue lasers at Link and we get a short look at the new bow which lit up when charged.
