World of Warcraft is now Free to Play…Until Level 20, Anyway.

In what is probably the most brilliant move Blizzard could have made, WoW is now totally free to play up to level 20. You know who else operates like this? Crack dealers.

I'm not even kidding. This is how cocaine dealers secure new clientele. Offer potential customers a free sample of their wares to get them good and addicted, and then suck down all of their money to provide them with their daily fix. Granted, it's evil, but it's also pure genius from a business standpoint. Blizzard gets to effectively push their digital drug while securing a batch of users to provide them with lifeblood for the future.
