DICE has just revealed that microtransactions are on their way for Battlefield 4, all optional.
What they’ve basically done is take Battlepacks, little content bundles that you usually earn and then use in the game, and offered them up as microtransactions. The Battlepacks will be available for sale at the in-game store, as well as on Origin.com, Battlelog.com, Xbox Live Marketplace, and Playstation Store.
So, what do these packs contain?
· For $1 you get the Bronze Battlepack, which includes two Standard items, as well as a 3rd bonus item. This bonus item has been randomized, so chances are you might get an Advanced item.
· For $2 you get the Silver Battlepack, which includes two Standard items, at least one Advanced item, one bonus item, and a randomized chance to get a Superior item.
· For $3 you get the Gold Battlepack, which includes three Standard items and two Advanced items.
There are other Battlepacks which have not yet been put up for sale, name the Weapon Battlepack and exclusive Battlepacks.
In gameplay, you get your 1st Bronze Battlepack at rank 3, and are subsequently awarded with different rank upgrades, at rank 5, 7, 10, et al.
I would surmise that Battlefield 4 must be in OK shape at this point for DICE to make the brave choice to reveal this now. How about you Battlefield players corroborate that with us now? Tell us how you feel about this news and how you’ve been playing Battlefield in the comments below.
