Dragon Age 3: Inquisition Goes Alpha Ahead of E3

May 26, 2014 by Stephen Daly

Executive producer teases more news will come about the RPG at E3 next month.

Following news that BioWare's Dragon Age: Inquisition was content complete in late April, executive producer Mark Darrah took to Twitter yesterday to announce that the game has now entered alpha phase.

We have declared Alpha! A major milestone for Dragon Age! Next up, E3

— Mark Darrah (@BioMarkDarrah) May 25, 2014

Darrah explained that this means the game is more "officially done" than it was when they reached content complete stage.

What's also worth nothing in Darrah's tweet is that he mentions E3 next month which imples Dragon Age will feature during EA's press conference and possibly one of the platform holders' as well; Mass Effect 3, another BioWare game, received a gameplay demonstration at Microsoft's E3 media briefing a few years ago.

Writer David Gaider explained last month, “Once we hit Alpha, cuts are generally things that are simply excised in their entirety, without any ability to really work around them for the sake of logic or flow.”

Inquisiition will be BioWare's most customisable game ever according to producer Cameron Lee who told X-One “Inquisition gives players more customization than any Dragon Age game we’ve ever done. In fact it’s the most customizable game ever created by BioWare.”

Dragon Age: Inquisition launches on PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One on October 7th in North America and on October 10th in Europe.
