Super Smash Bros. 4 Gets Ike from Fire Emblem

May 23, 2014 by Ian Miles Cheong

Fire Emblem’s Ike comes to Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS.

Nintendo released a new character reveal late last night (or early this morning for Japan) for their upcoming Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS.

The character they revealed is Ike, a reoccurring character in Intelligent Systems’ Fire Emblem series of RPGs. Ike served as the protagonist in the GameCube title Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, and was one of the two main characters in the Wii game Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. He was also a downloadable character in the most recent title in the series, Fire Emblem: Awakening, which was released in 2013.

Ike’s appearance in Super Smash Bros. is based on his Radiant Dawn character design. He’ll be joining the likes of Link and Kirby in the upcoming game.

The game, known colloquially by fans as Super Smash Bros. 4, is set to grace the 3DS this summer and the Wii U this winter.

Check out the screenshots of Ike below.
