Arena Of Fate Trailer Seems To Have Been Revealed Too Early

May 22, 2014 by Ryan Parreno

It looks like we’re about to hear about a new game from Crytek – but someone beat them to the punch.

It seems that the trailer to a new Crytek project has been leaked, although we are yet to receive confirmation from Crytek themselves. Introducing Arena of Fate. Watch the trailer here:

Some of you may remember hearing that name before. That’s because Kotaku contributor Superannuation brought this name up last February. He revealed then that Crytek Black Sea, the company’s dev team straight out of Bulgaria, has been working on a game with this title. He also revealed then that the game may either be an action RPG, MMO, or MOBA. Of course, these genres are prone to getting blended into each other, so it could also be any combination of all three.

Now, the trailer seems to suggest the game is more of a MOBA, showing two characters (Red Riding Hood and a Big Bad Wolf?) coming together in combat.

Based on who you got this info from, there is different copy floating around as well. We can’t vouch for the authenticity of this information but we’ll share it for your perusal.

This comes from our video source:

Step into the shoes of legendary heroes from history and fantasy and lock horns in "Arena of Fate"; an action-packed online multiplayer game coming to PC and consoles soon from Crytek.

And this comes from NeoGAF:

“Imagine Joan of Arc and Robin Hood cooperating to hunt down Little Red Riding Hood – Wouldn’t that be terrific? But besides the game's iconic heroes, which everyone in the team really loves, we are also challenging ourselves to carefully craft a streamlined player experience that allows for both greater accessibility, and rich, deep, action-packed gameplay.

We are very excited to meet the first wave of players in the arena this summer, and will be listening carefully to the feedback we receive and making the community's contribution a key part of our efforts to perfect the fun.”

– Managing Director of Crytek Black Sea and Game Director of Arena of Fate, Vesselin Handjiev

Looking at the purported official site, it now has this message :

So, still nothing official from Crytek, but it does seem like we are getting the grand reveal very soon. We’ll be sure to provide you details on Arena of Fate as it comes out.
