WWE 2K15 Release Date May Have Been Outed By Retailers

May 21, 2014 by Ryan Parreno

Amazon has put it up on their page, and other retailers have confirmed it to their customers as well.

Amazon seems to know when WWE 2K15 is coming. They have listed a release date of October 28, 2014 on their preorder page.

They have also listed platforms as PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. Apparently other retailers, including Best Buy, Gamestop, and EG Games in Canada have confirmed they also have the same release date.

This would dispel earlier rumors that the game has actually been cancelled to early 2015. Frankly, there might be something to the latter rumor, and I’ll explain why below.

Word on the street is that 2K Sports has dropped Yuke’s as developer of the WWE games, in favor of them making the games themselves moving forward. You may remember that Yuke’s was caught in the crossfire of THQ going belly up while working on WWE 2K14, but they didn’t actually stop working on the game, and were able to transition when the IP rights were officially sold from THQ to Take Two Interactive quite well.

So, did Take Two allow Yuke’s to finishWWE 2K15 as their last game to release on time, or did 2K Sports take over immediately? Maybe it’s a case where allowing Yuke’s to finish WWE 2K14 was a matter of financial obligation? Now would be a good time for Take-Two to dispel possible misconceptions here.

We will keep you up to date when more information about WWE 2K15 surfaces. Image is from WWE 2K14.
