Nike has revealed an exciting new piece of merchandise for players of NBA 2K14. Introducing the Nike Lebron XI NBA 2K14.
I bet you didn’t expect to read Nike on this site, did you? But it does come back to gaming. As you can guess, this is a variation of the Lebron XIs that Lebron James wore himself in the 2014 playoffs, playing against the Brooklyn Nets.
Nike has opted to throw restraint by the wayside with this one, too, as they combine red tones and leopard print with icy blue outsoles. Accentuating it all is a golden Nike Swoosh that runs across the outside of each shoe, matching the gold-yellow of the leopard print. The shoes feature Hyperfuse, Nike Zoom cushioning and Flywire. Only 2,014 pairs of the shoe will be made, weighing 14.5 ounces at a men’s size 9.
And now, the kicker. If you want to preorder these shoes, you need to meet certain goals in 2K14. Luckily for you, it just so happens we found out what those were, too:
1. Register a 2K Sports online account
2. Make a custom MyPLAYER
3. Complete 60 season games to become an Elite Player
4. Go through Nike’s Endorsement path and make a Signature Shoe in the Innovation Kitchen (and hope you’re one of the 1st 2,014 players to do this!)
5. Finally, become a Nike Superstar in the game
If you pull these all off, you’ll get a congratulations message from LeBron himself (in-game, sorry) and an invitation to get the shoe. If you accept, you’ll receive a 16-digit access code you need to use at http://www.nike.com/2K14
