Mass Effect 2 and Assassin’s Creed 3 Animator Joins Naughty Dog

May 6, 2014 by Stephen Daly

Cooper is now working on Uncharted for PlayStation 4.

Jonathan Cooper, who worked as animator on Assassin's Creed 3, Mass Effect, and Mass Effect 2 has joined Uncharted developer Naughty Dog.

The information was revealed by Cooper's LinkedIn page which simply describes his position as "animator". Prior to moving to Naughty Dog Cooper was working on an unannounced Ubisoft project, "Prototyping a revolutionary new kind of navigation system for next-gen systems."

Naughty Dog has lost several key staff members in recent months including long-time creative director and writer Amy Hennig, lead character artist Michael Knowland, Unchared PS4 game director Justin Richmond, and lead artist Nate Wells.

Cooper will be working on Uncharted PS4 at the Santa Monica based studio, which celebrates its 30th Anniversary this year. In a Gameanim post from last month, he wrote that he has in fact been at the studio since late February.

Naughty Dog is also developing The Last of Us: Remastered for PS4, and given the success of the The Last of Us there's a good chance a sequel is being developed.

A movie adaptation of The Last of Us is also in the works.
