Diablo 3: Blizzard May Consider Controller Support for PC Version

April 25, 2014 by Ian Miles Cheong

If there’s demand for it, Blizzard may add controller support to the PC version of Diablo 3.

As we reported earlier, Blizzard has huge plans for Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls with the introduction of Seasons, Tiered Rifts, and Leaderboards. You can read about all of that here.

Having new content to play around with in the game is the least of our worries with what the studio has in store, but what of controller support?

Speaking in an interview with Shacknews, Production Director John Hight revealed that the studio may be giving consideration to bringing controller support to the PC version of the game. As the game is already on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles, and soon to be on the PS4, there seems to be no reason why the game has yet to offer controller support on the PC. Right?

“We made a great many changes to how skills work for console to make them feel right on a controller,” said Hight. “If we were to embark on such a project it would require bringing the console and PC skills inline, and while I think for the most part this would be very cool, it would mean changes to PC skills. At the end of the day, if this is something our community wants, we could explore at some future point.”

Speaking for myself, it’s something I definitely want to see implemented into the game.
