Mingy Jongo, the intended spiritual succesor of classic Nintendo 64 series Banjo Kazooie, is confirmed to be cancelled according to Banjo's composer Grant Kirkhope in an AMA he particpated in.
He explained that the project "fell to bits" because of a variety of reasons like people getting other jobs. There was progress on the game at some point though since he said that: “The other guys actually had a secret meeting in a pub near Rare and we even got as far as having a character drawn up and a demo level type thing.”
The game was intended to be created with the Unity engine since a PC release was envisioned, however we sadly won't be seeing any release at all. However, Kirkhope did say that he'd happily be on board if Rare decided to do another entry for Banjo Kazooie. Perhaps, other developers who still want to work on the game can use Kickstarter since they have over 16,000 followers on the cancelled game's twitter account.
