Fortnite Has Received A Monthly Subscription Tier

November 24, 2020 by Dennis Patrick

Find out what content comes with it.

Fortnite is such a massive worldwide phenomenon. Fans have really taken up with the video game and while it’s been around for years, the title has been a free-to-play which was supported through in-game purchases. This was through different forms either by players purchasing V-Bucks, the in-game currency or by purchasing a season Battle Pass. That’s been certainly enough for Epic Games to really turn a profit for the title, but it looks like Epic Games is bringing out another means of revenue.

Starting when Chapter 2 Season 5 hits, players can opt for a subscription tier. It’s worth pointing out that Fortnite is not leaving free-to-play, but this is just another means for players to earn some extra goods for the game. For instance, players will get the Battle Pass along with some exclusive gear that would only be available for those that are on the subscription tier.

Currently, we know that the subscription service tier will come with the Battle Pass, 1,000 V-Bucks, along a Crew Pack. With the Crew Pack, players will receive an exclusive outfit that can only be obtained through the subscription service. It’s also worth noting that those that purchase a Battle Pass beforehand will find their accounts getting refunded 950 V-Bucks if they purchase the subscription.

Speaking of the subscription, players will find that it will as a monthly recurring fee of $11.99. This was rumored for a little while now, but now it looks like we will see this subscription pushed by Epic starting on December 2, 2020. In other news, Epic Games is still battling against Apple over the removal of Fortnite from their marketplace store. This was due to Epic bypassing the revenue split forced for all in-app purchases.
