Assassin’s Creed 5: Unity: Fan Theories On The Modern Assassin And Possible DLC

April 10, 2014 by Ryan Parreno

Two characters may be taking pivotal roles in Unity; well, if this all turns out to be true, actually, three.

We have possible rumors on what could be the possible identity of our next playable character in Assassin’s Creed 5: Unity. No, not that one, the one from modern day. There is reason to believe it’s Galina Voronina, the sole surviving Russian Assassin.

So, this is the basis for the theory. Galina had to call for help from outside Assassins after her own mother, along with her sister and the other Russian Assassins, went mad from the Bleeding Effect.

When the Assassins did arrive in Russia, they went to the lab with Galina. While all the crazy Assassins attacked the party, Galina managed to kill them all off herself using her hidden blade. She mastered her skills thanks to the Animus, and managed to not go crazy from the Bleeding Effect.

After defeating all the crazy Assassins, Galina approached her mother to kill her. However, when she approached her, observant players saw a monitor connected to an Animus that had another face: Juno, from the First Civilization.

Check it out; she's at the lower left.

Now, here’s how the theory goes: when Galina’s mother said she spoke to Eve, she actually went as Eve into the Animus. This means Galina and her mother are both descendants of Eve. In this situation, Juno may simply be driven by the fact that Eve’s descendants are a threat and subsequently want to get rid of them.

To bolster this theory, consider that Galina is one of the few people, like Desmond, who resisted the Bleeding Effect and was able to learn from it. Galina’s story would also be useful in a narrative sense, since her story is intertwined with that of the Guild.

Above all that, however, is the simple fact that as a descendant of Eve, she is one of the only people who can stop Juno.

While we’re entertaining these crackpot theories, some fans are guessing that Unity’s timeline will go as far as the Napoleonic Wars, at least in DLC. In which case, they may be setting up Napoleon himself for some Tyranny of King Washington-like DLC.  What do you think about these fan theories? Are these the things you even want to see in the next Assassin’s Creed game? Let us know in the comments below.

Assassin's Creed 5 Unity has been announced for Windows, PS4, and Xbox One.
