Watch Dogs Promo Reveals Your Digital Shadow Using Facebook

April 9, 2014 by Yesika Reyes

Watch Dogs shows how your Facebook data can be turned against you in their latest promo.

Ubisoft launched a promotional website called Digital Shadow for their upcoming video game Watch Dogs. The website prompts visitors to log-in with their Facebook credentials to view one's digital shadow. You'll be able to see the contacts you frequently interact with, the days you are most active, the words you use, and much more.

Interestingly, the website gives users a different way to view their contacts based on the frequency and reciprocation of interaction. One category is called the 'Stalkers' and the people featured are those who consistently interact with me and monitor my activity. There is also a group called 'Liabilities' and they often tag you in their posts, so your data is most likely exposed. While I could list all the categories, it's more fun to try it out and surprise yourself. It's not perfect, but it gets some it right and it's also fun to share with others.

The one I liked most was the part that tells me when I am most active online. In addition, it also tries to figure out your personality based on the words you frequently use.

Last month, Ubisoft also launched a promo website for a fictional company in the game called CTOS. If you're really excited for the game, don't worry since players will get to access the entire area of Chicago from the start.

The game is set for release on May 27th for PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One with the Wii U version coming later.
