EA Pulls Crysis 2 and Alice From Steam

June 14, 2011 by Ian Miles Cheong

The publishing giant has reportedly pulled its games Crysis 2 and Alice: Madness Returns from Valve’s digital store.

In a disappointing move, publishing giant Electronic Arts has decidedly pulled Crysis 2 from the Steam Store, making the game only available on the new Origin service. The same can be said of Alice: Madness Returns, which was released only today.

Although the game is labeled as an 'exclusive' for EA's new digital store, it remains available on Direct2Drive, Impulse and GamersGate. It remains to be seen whether EA will cut its deals with those outlets, but it wouldn't be terribly shocking given the publisher's attempts to drive customers over to Origin.

BioWare, also a part of EA, has confirmed that Star Wars: The Old Republic will be an Origin exclusive.
