Watch Dogs Effects Trailer Shows Off Wind, Water, and Lightning Effects

April 2, 2014 by Ryan Parreno

Ubisoft’s upcoming open world game will have a highly intelligent and reactive world.

We have for you a video preview of the wind, water, and lightning effects of Ubisoft’s upcoming open world game, Watch Dogs.

As Ubi has been proud to trumpet before, each of these weather elements actually received their own middleware, so that they can react dynamically to the rest of the world around them. Now, while some of you may say the video does not exactly show Watch Dogs in high graphical detail, I would ask you to look at something else. The water, lighting and even wind effects in this game are planned to have some degree of realism, not merely on the surface, but in how it affects the world as a whole. Ubisoft has promised no tricks; Chicago in Watch Dogs will truly have the spark of randomness which will make each playthrough truly unique.

Without further ado, you can check out the full trailer below.

Watch Dogs is scheduled for release May 27 to Xbox 360, Xbox One, Playstation 3, Playstation 4, and Windows. A future release date will also be announced for the Wii U.
