The future of Halo will be driven by 343 Industries, but that doesn’t mean the powerhouse studio won’t be getting some help along the way. A job opening for a software development engineer has just appeared on Microsoft’s career website, and within the text of the application is mention of external partners. That means that future Halo products – and possibly even the Xbox One’s Halo 5 – will depend upon the hard work of different studios.
“343 Industries is looking for a strong game developer focusing on asset pipelines and experience working with external partners,” it reads. “Work on one of the most exciting and creative intellectual properties in the industry; we are gathering an incredible team to help drive the future of Halo.”
We continue to hear about the existence of the Halo 2 Anniversary project, so it’s possible that 343 is having a third party work on that game. Looking toward the future, though, the Halo brand might continue to expand as more teams are asked to come onboard.
