Deep Down Video Shows New Monsters, Locations, and Combat Details

March 19, 2014 by Stephen Daly

The dungeon crawler offers localised damage to enemies.

Sony has released a new video for PlayStation 4 exclusive Deep Down. In the trailer, which you can see below, Capcom producer Yoshinori Oni talks (in Japanese) about new monsters, locations, and combat details revealing that players will have the option to deploy localised damage to enemies.

Deep Down is currently only confirmed for release in Japan but Capcom has commented that they "hope to release more information soon" about a Western release. The game is a free-to-play title which Capcom says they hope will lure those traditionally reluctant to play multiplayer titles into online gaming.

The game is designed to help Capcom test the waters on PS4 and is being developed on the company's proprietary Panta Rhei engine.

Despite appearances, Deep Down is set in New York in 2094.
