Dark Souls 2 on PC Finally Gets a Release Date

March 6, 2014 by Josiah Renaudin

The PC version of From Software’s latest RPG will be released in April.

From Software’s Dark Souls 2 finally has a release date for the PC. The brutally difficult RPG will find a home on Steam April 25 – more than a month after the console version’s launch.

A post on the game’s Facebook explains that while players will have to wait a while to get their hands on the PC edition, the developers have been putting work into increasing the framerate and adapting the controls to the mouse and keyboard.

“The PC and Steam version will benefit from PC capabilities with increased texture resolution and an enhanced frame rate option,” the post reads. “On top of that, From Software has been working to perfectly adapt the game for a mouse and keyboard combo.”

The PC requirements are not yet known, but the game will be region-locked on Steam. This means that friendly American players won’t be able to gift the product to their buddy in, let’s say, Australia.

Still, if you’re looking to experience Dark Souls 2 with the addition of mods, it might be best to wait for April 25.
