Criterion Founders Establish Three Fields Entertainment

March 5, 2014 by Stephen Daly

Alex Ward and Fiona Sperry have yet to reveal what they’re working on, however.

Criterion founders Alex Ward and Fiona Sperry have announced the formation of new studio Three Field Entertainment today following their departure from EA in January.

Ward announced the news on Twitter:

Today we are excited to announce our new British games company -Three Fields Entertainment. http://t.co/Q06Md7WHtX @3FieldsEnt

— Alex Ward (@AlexanderJWard) March 5, 2014

The studio's website currently features only a logo and contact links. There's currently no word on what their first project will be but they said in January that their ambition was to establish a "new games company".

Explaining their decision to leave Criterion, Ward commented at the time that, "[We] Just decided to start afresh and form a new games company with Fiona Sperry."

At Criterion, the duo developed Need for Speed – which has a movie adaptation releasing this month – and Burnout Paradise.
