Kojima Wants to Bring Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes to PC

March 5, 2014 by Josiah Renaudin

Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima is looking to go back to his roots with a PC release of Ground Zeroes.

Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes, the open-world prologue to next year’s The Phantom Pain, is currently only scheduled to launch on consoles. For quite some time, the Metal Gear Solid franchise was closely tied to Sony’s PlayStation brand, but creator Hideo Kojima recently told GameSpot that he’s interested in bringing the next chapter of his narrative epic to the PC.

"PC, that's my original background. I originally created PC games," Kojima said. "A long time ago I didn't want to rely on platforms to release games, so if people want it, I cannot make a formal announcement, but that is definitely something that I would like to do."

The game already looks sharp on the PlayStation 4, but PC owners would likely swoon over seeing something as technically sound as Ground Zeroes running on their rig. If it does happen, expect it a few months after the game’s console launch.
