Deus Ex Composer’s Just Fun Kickstarter Ending Soon

March 3, 2014 by Stephen Daly

Alexander Brandon looking to fund ‘labor of love’ with 14 songs.

Deus Ex and Unreal composer Alexander Brandon's Kickstarter campaign to fund a new album titled 'Just Fun,' has just 62 more hours left until it's wound down.

The album will feature 14 songs, most of which are more than three minutes long as well as an intro and an outtro. The album's collaborators include two guitarists, an operatic vocalist, and a hammer dulcimer player.

Explaining why he's looking for funding, Brandon commented:

"Roughly three months of full time effort has gone into this album over a period of over a year. Evenings, weekends, early mornings spent by myself as well as the fine folks who have collaborated with me. I'd like the ability to have this release be to a wider audience, with the ability to supply things like cool signed CDs as well as even more digital downloads of previous works.

"Just as important, I want to be able to mix and master the album with pro engineers. I love to write music, but the difference a mixing and mastering job can make is truly extraordinary when you hear a "before" and "after" comparison."

The album is expected to be available for digital download on June 6th this year while the CD will be launched on June 27th. Just Fun already has $19,000 pledged and needs another $1,000 for professional mastering.
