Harmonix Announces Arena First Person Shooter Chroma

February 17, 2014 by Stephen Daly

You can sign up for the game’s closed alpha now.

Rock Band developer Harmonix has announced arena first person shooter Chroma for PC.

Described as "Completely re-imagining the classic Arena FPS formula," Chroma does not abandon Harmonix's musical legacy with the game casting players as Fader, "a musical icon of the future." Instead of bullets and bombs Fader has an arsenal of sound and music as players battle for control of something called 'The Signal'.

There will be multiple classes and each will have their own abilities and musical gameplay mechanics. The game's announcement trailer is below while you can sign up for the closed alpha here. Harmonix says more participants will be added to the alpha over time so don't worry if you don't hear anything immediately.

Harmonix is also developing Fantasia: Music Evolved which is based on the classic Disney movie.
